I love tumblr for the freedom it gives you to express your inner-most thoughts. But I dislike the popularity contest that has become so imminent with every post. I guess that contributes to modern society; we all just want acceptance. And the groupthinkers will follow what trends. The self-indulged vanity is the common thread in this social fabric. The style constantly reblogged because of its “originality” is now the gold-standard for notes as well as a day-to-day outfit worn by young america. It hurts me to see people lose themselves in what is “the look” or even “the feel”. We should strive to push the envelope of ourselves. Be something greater than the pack. Imagine if we all, or even 30% of us thought like that? The results would be astounding.
